WHY WE'RE HOSTING THIS
Commonly across many Asian cultures, care is indirectly communicated through hard work, quiet sacrifice + acts of service; we are oftentimes the caretakers.
So what if for 75-mins, the act of taking care becomes synonymous with the act of receiving care?
Through nourishing movement, intentional rest + community connection, Take/Care is the ultimate act of service to, and from ourselves.
And because self care = community care, 10% of proceeds will be donated to Butterfly, a Toronto-based organization formed by sex workers, social workers, legal + health care professionals that advocates + provides support for Asian + migrant sex workers.
Take/Care with Carman Chan + Therese Hadfield this May 31 on the rooftop of Jungle Toronto for a 75-min outdoor Pilates + sound bath experience to celebrate Asian heritage month in community through collective movement + rest.
Please note, this event is intentionally reserved for the Asian community, including LGBTQIA+ folks who identify.
